Prof. Regina Hechanova

Ma. Regina M. Hechanova Alampay is a full professor and licensed psychologist and the Chief of Party of the USAID RenewHealth project. Gina was formerly the, Chair of the Department of Psychology, Ateneo de Manila University and past President of the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP).   A prolific researcher, Gina was named one of the Outstanding Young Scientists in 2005. Gina has always been active in outreach, making sure that mental health services are provided for those who need it most. She led the efforts in creating Katatagan, a resilience program for disaster survivors in the Philippines. For her efforts, she was named Outstanding Women in Nation’s Service in 2010 and in 2018, Outstanding Professional in Psychology by the Professional Regulatory Commission.
