Mio Tang, sophomore from University of Washington majoring in Psychology and Nursing, has joined the GCMH as a summer visiting research intern. Mio will be trained in mixed methods research and will assist in our various local and migrant health projects. She has a strong interest in clinical and social psychology, with a new growing interest in global mental health. She wanted to pursue an internship abroad to broaden her perspective and gain a better understanding of mental health across different cultures. She is most excited to work with a diverse team while gaining hands-on research experience in her homeland.
“Having moved to the states at a very young age, I’ve always wanted the opportunity to come back to Macau. Pursuing an internship at the University of Macau was a really exciting opportunity to study something I’m passionate about back in my homeland.”
